NBA Basketball 1/31/06 Lakers, Knicks Pair Off But Not On National Television

Lakers @ Knicks: This has to be the first time in years that these two teams aren’t playing each other on national television. It shows how New York and LA, the two biggest markets in the League, don’t necessarily have the best teams. That would certainly be the case 20, 30 years ago. This game is a tight one and we expect to see a Kobe team that falls short of a win. Predicted Score: New York wins 103-100

Suns @ 76ers: Obviously both teams can score, but neither is far from being a defensive team either. Iguodala and Dalembert certainly provide a defensive presence, as do Thomas and Diaw for Phoenix. Whichever team shows any defense in this game should win. We are planning on taking the over in this game. Predicted Score: Phoenix wins 109-104

Bulls @ Mavericks: Normally the offensive team beats the defensive team in spots like this. But since Dallas is so vapid when it comes to stopping field goals it’s a different story. Jason Terry has to be a better PG. The points are there but his assists are pathetic for a PG on a 30-win team. Kirk Hinrich should get to the hoop with ease. This is going to be a very easy road victory for the Bulls. Regardless, take them against the spread. Predicted Score: Chicago wins 102-87
