The benefits of buying comfortable shoes are many. The more comfortable the shoe is; the less likely that you will injure yourself. Also, the more comfortable the shoe, the more likely you are to use proper body posture when you are walking. The more comfortable that you are in your shoes, the more healthy your back, legs and feet will be. Investing a good quality pair of shoes can be looked as an investment. Think about it from this perspective, good quality shoes last longer, more comfortable and you don’t have to replace your shoes often.
If you want to purchase a pair of shoes that will be comfortable, the first thing that you should do is to measure your feet at the end of the day. During the day, your feet will stretch out, both in length and width. You should also measure both your left and your right foot. You may find some shoes fit differently when you are trying on different brands, don’t’ be alarmed, no two feet are exactly the same size and shoe sizes differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. You should measure your foot when you are standing because your body weight will change the width and perhaps your foots length, too.
Once your foot is measured; select shoes that have an arch support. You will want to have about one half inch of additional room at the toe of your foot. This extra room should be measured from your longest toe, which isn't necessarily your big toe. When you try shoes on, you should walk in them. You do not want for there to be a lot of slippage in the heel; slipping can cause blisters. You can try differing widths of the same style of shoe if your feet or toes are too cramped in the space. If you meat on your feet, try on wider shoes, they may be more comfortable for the width of your feet.
High heel shoes are notorious for wreaking havoc with women's spines, hips and ankles. High heels were invented because they accentuate the buttocks and force hips to swing from side to side when a woman walks. However, the body is not constructed to walk this way; thus, backaches and ankle and leg injuries are common for women who wear high heeled shoes. If you love high heels, I suggest not wearing them all the time, change up your look and comfort from time to time. Relaxing your legs for a day or two is good for you in the long run.
If you prefer to wear high heel shoes for whatever reason, you can take precautions. For example, try not to purchase a heel that is higher than two inches. Also, give your feet and back a rest when you are wearing high heel shoes. Sit and rest and remove your shoes periodically if you can. Taking a pair of slippers with you is one way to help your comfort level if you are wearing high heels. There are many slipper styles that can be hidden in a purse or other carry-all. Another good way to preserve your comfort level when you are wearing high heeled shoes is to limit the amount of time that you wear them. Perhaps you can wear them to dinner, but remove them before you get to the theater and change into low heeled shoes.
Every step that you take can be comfortable if you wear the proper size and style of shoes. If you will take the opportunity to change your shoes during the day or evening, you will allow your body to rest and recuperate from any strain. After a long day or night in high heels, you can treat your feet to a warm water soak. You can add fragrant oil to soothe your senses while the warm water helps your foot muscles relax. Everything that you do to insure proper fit and comfort will make your overall comfort level better, which will indirectly affect your productivity. If you spend a lot of your time on your feet, treat them to pampering with lotions and soaks that will revitalize them. And a hand massage from your partner can be the best pampering of all.
