How To Find A Free Snowboard

By: Jamel Hickel

If you love to snowboard you already know how important having good equipment is. You also know that snowboarding equipment isn't cheap. Wouldn't it be great to find a free snowboard? Would you believe me if I told you it was doable?

Okay I'll be the first to admit that it isn't easy and it does require some patience and time but it can be done. Here's some ways that you might be able to get a free snowboard.

1. ContestsMany ski hills like Whistler often run contests for equipment including snowboards to entice you up to the mountain. These draws have conditions that apply. They may be how long you stay, which rooms you rent, or a number of other conditions but it's a great way to try to win a free snowboard.

2. Rental StoresRental outfits will often run promotions that entire you to enter a contest to win a snowboard if you rent gear from them. You'd be renting gear anyway and what better way to try to get a free board.

3. Ski and Snowboarding StoresMany of these will offer you free equipment which includes boards if you spend X number of dollars. It's a great way to get some extra equipment without hurting your pocket book.

4. Free Classified AdsEvery now and then you'll find free snowboarding equipment in the free section of the classifieds. It may land there for many reasons including an injury that leaves the rider unable to enjoy the sport any more. Admittedly this is a long shot but still worth checking both with your local paper and online.

5. Web Sites Give-a-WaysSome websites do free give-a-ways once a month or once every few months. Snowboard sites quite often give away free snowboards as part of their promotion. Sometimes all it takes is adding your name to a mail list.

6. PromotionsOften manufacturers give great promotions on their products. What you must do to participate in the promotion depends on the company that is offering the promotion. Sometimes you need to buy something, sometimes you just need to enter a draw, sometimes you have to take a survey, and sometimes you might have to live in a specific area.

Finding a free snowboard might take a bit of time but it certainly is not impossible. And with online convenience it just got easier so why not give it a try?
